This attractively shaped oval electric skillet has the capacity of a 15-inch round skillet and cooks breakfast, lunch, or dinner for six to eight people without requiring you to turn the stove on once. Equipped with a warming setting, this skillet also works as a buffet server to conveniently brown sweet and sour meatballs or grill appetizer-sized cheese sandwiches and serve right from the same pan. The heat control ranges from 200 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (in 50-degree increments) and automatically maintains the proper heat setting so foods cook at the same rate as they would on the stove but in a more energy-efficient manner than a range or oven. Made of heavy cast aluminum, the skillet has a beautiful white-colored nonstick interior and exterior surface so meals won’t stick and clean-up is easy. The durable tempered glass cover shows what is being served at a buffet and lets you monitor cooking progress. The skillet rests on two plastic legs that won’t transfer heat from the pan. With the heat control removed, the skillet is fully immersible in water and dishwasher-safe. Very nice, very LARGE, electric skillet (2009-11-10)
I purchased this electric skillet to use in our motor home. I give it high marks on design, function and quality of materials, but it is much larger than I anticipated, so it may not do much traveling. It's big enough to fry a whole chicken with room to spare, so it's more appropriate for a large family than for empty-nesters on the move. The surface heats up quickly and evenly, is truly nonstick and washes up nicely. The low sides and oval shape make it a nice keep-warm server for foods like meatballs. I found the same "cons" as many of the other reviewers: the legs get loose with normal use and it would be nice to have a steam vent in the lid. Overall, it's a very nice skillet.
Best Electric Skillet Ever (2009-07-04)
I recently purchased a second because I was so happy with my first electric skillet that I wanted a back-up in case I couldn't find another one some day. The finish on this skillet makes it so easy to clean and nothing ever sticks. Great product!!
